Jim Hornfischer, great Naval Historian and author just died of brain cancer. He wrote some very famous books like the Last Stand of the Tin Can Saliors, Neptune's Inferno, The Fleet at Flood Tide and Ship of Ghosts - about the USS HOUSTON.

So sorry to hear that. I have the first two books on your list and found them very interesting. It's so sad to lose someone who was so capable in his story telling. My sympathies to his family.
