The Most Remarkable Game Ever Played in the National Football League Occurred 71 Years Ago.

As accurately described by the grimly humorous linked article, the impact of the devastatingly
unexpected defeat on 16 Sep 1950 of the twice defending NFL Champion Philadelphia Eagles
changed forever the way NFL teams scouted their opponents, evaluated their players, and
called plays from the sidelines.

(The Cleveland Browns had arrived in the NFL.)

The Eagles never recovered from this debacle and ended the 1950 season with six wins and six losses.

In contrast, the Browns won the NFL Championship

Writer's comment: I think this board occasionally needs "a light touch." The linked site provides that
touch; don't miss it.

Note: the link appears not to work, so put BROWNS DESTROY EAGLES, 35-10, IN HUGE UPSET into
any search engine.
