It is sad to report on the health condition of our friend Denny.
In case you are not aware of his health status I offer the following limited comments:
• For the past two years or so Denny has had issues concerning his health.
• It is suspected that he may have had a minor stroke about a year ago that has affected his speech. It would take him tens of seconds to respond to any question or comment.
• This speech condition has grown worse over time and he is now limited to Yes or No answers – and even these Yes or No answers confuse him as to which to select as a response. He might change his answer after a few minutes – making the answer questionable.
• He was originally admitted to the hospital on 27 May 21 and due to his speech condition they quickly assumed that he had suffered a recent stroke. This proved to be not all that correct and subsequent examinations revealed Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
• On 18 June 21 he was transferred to a nursing home for “care”. - Autumn Care 2580 Pruden Blvd. Suffolk, VA 23434 (757-934-2363)
Bob Stocker and I visited Denny today and we found his condition to be about the same as our last visit.
• Same Yes/No very slow type answers, no other words offered. We try to communicate with pen and paper however he is limited to writing a single word (after a lot of time thinking).
A short note or card from his many friends would mean a lot to Denny. (Address above).
Always,
Ed

Re: Denny Conrad - Nursing Home Status (19 Sep 21)
Ed,
Thanks for the update. I never had the opportunity to work with Denny but everyone I know who did had nothing but great things to say about him. He is in my thoughts and prayers.
