Re: 70th Anniversary Update and request for assistance

Jim,
Might require an effort on the IUSS Facebook page to offer tickets at discounts to generate some, rather than no, revenue. I already donated, but let me know as we wind down and I'll send more. Rick

Re: 70th Anniversary Update and request for assistance

p.s. I'd love to attend but alas I am bedridden now and can barely make regular hospital visits. My doctor has advised me against any travel greater than 50 miles from home. I'm battling cancer, CKD, CHF, ASAD, and DVT. I've lost 90% of hearing in my right ear, and 50% in my left. I'm a mess.

So it won't be too much longer until I make the transition to the other side. I've had a good run and have few regrets.

For those who will be around longer than I... our homeland is in pretty bad condition. Just remember this as you assess choices for the future...

It's been my honor to know and serve with so many exceptional people.

Rick,
You are in my thoughts and prayers all the time my friend. You have been and continue to be a huge part of our system. Hang in there and know that there is a special place for you when you do make that final transition. It is an honor to know you.

Re: 70th Anniversary Update and request for assistance

Rick, when you get the chance go on YouTube and listen to “Almost Home” by Mercy Me. The 2019 Dove Awards version is probably the best.
Good health or otherwise the message in that song is so valuable and encouraging. In the meantime hang tough, there’s only One that knows our if and whens.

Hey Rick, very sorry to hear about you not being able to travel, it would be great to see you. I knew you were having health difficulties, but sad to hear your battle continues. Sending prayers and a giant hug to you and your family.
