Today is the 55th anniversary of the passing of STG3 Bob Koutelis. He was killed attempting to save the lives of civilians who were trying to surf the breakers on the beach at Navfac Guam. He was the lead life saver on the Beach Guard that day.

He was a great guy, talented sailor, and dedicated shipmate. Rest in peace old fiend.
