Organic Food - Warsaw

Just wanted to know whether anyone knows of any organic farm or supplier in Poland that can deliver its products to private customers in Warsaw.

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

Almost all the fruit and veg sold on street stalls, (and delivered during the night to the wholesale market by farmers) is organic - most farmers can't afford pesticides and the GM business here is, unfortunately, still small.

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

I see farmers spraying their crops with pesticides almost every day in Lubuskie and Wielkopolskie. Maybe it's different near Warsaw?

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

Of course all food is sprayed in Poland. Honestly! The farmers don't spray the food they themselves are going to eat, though.

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

Different types of farm in West Poland. Here in the East, they're generally two or three hectares, smallholdings really, and, believe me, they don't spray except for soft fruit of course - it would cost too much.

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

'tis true that farms here are often fairly large, in comparison to more eastern parts. There are a lot of ex-state farms hereabouts, Hans.

Re: Organic Food - Warsaw

Potatoes - if you don't spray you get a field full of Colorado beetles.
All fruit is sprayed.
