The Times of Poland

Seems like there's going to be a new national newspaper here. Wonder how it'll be received, given that it'll be noticeably foreign-owned........

The Times – a partner of Polskapresse 27.08.2007
New national daily of Polskapresse starts co-operation with The Times. The agreement between Polskapresse Management Board and The Times publishers Polskapresse sets up editorial co-operation and utilisation of The Times brand. This is the only one arrangement of this kind in Poland. The Times is a symbol of success on changing and developing media market and world known brand.

– Sale of The Times has risen from 350 to almost 700 thousands copies in over a dozen years – said Paweł Fąfara, editor-in-chief of Polskapresse national daily – We will utilise the highest quality of journalism and commercial ideas of our British colleagues. Polish reader deserves the best quality.

Polskapresse ensures that all titles of Polskapresse regional newspapers will remain and the new media partner will help invigorate the Polish local press market.

Our local newspapers and highly qualified journalists are still the biggest strength of Polskapresse. However it doesn’t prevent us from using the world best practice in developing our new national newspaper. The Times is the best example of successful changes of the European press market in recent years – said Tomasz Wróblewski, member of Polskapresse Management Board.

Polskapresse is making final preparations for the launch of The Times Polska which is planned for autumn of this year. Other details concerning new daily will be provided successively.
