The Pope re-appears to the faithful

http://wiadomosci.onet.pl/1623706,69,item.html

Pope JP II's "image" appeared in a bonfire at a prayer meeting to commemorate his death.

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

Did they all see it? Are they sure it was not Sirius Black from Harry Potter.

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

The photo does look a bit like him, especially if you've had a few.

The question is, why a bonfire and not a pierogi or a Goracy Kubek or even a MacWieprz?

flames

I guess you had to be there....

If you believe in something enough you will see what you want to see ...

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

The more I look at the picture, the more I wonder. If so many people want it to happen, perhaps it could by force of their combined faith. Or not.

maybe a poltergeist?

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

On closer reflection, including theological debate with Fr. Tadeusz Rydzyk and Sister Jadwiga of The Evicted Betanki, I have received a divine revelation about the true nature of the apparition.

Hi! could one of the moderators kindly delete the first message - my fingers were trembling with religious inspiration and I pressed twice.

Blimey, the king lives.

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

This kind of reminds me of that episode of "Swiat Wedlug Kepskich" where there is a water stain on the wallpaper that resembles the Holy Mother, and everyone in the building goes a bit overboard...

During winter in Chicago a few years ago there was a salt and water stain below an expressway overpass (would that make it an underpass?) that also resembled the Holy Mother (it was really quite easy to make out) which got people excited. The stain remained there for about 4 weeks with people leaving candles, rosaries, flowers, etc. While it wasn't my thing, it was nice to see people so earnest in their prayers. Then some knucklehead threw some sort of water/solvent on the stain and that was the end of that.

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

To me this is the equivalent of cloudwatching and nothing to do with faith or the church.

Here's an article on some earlier toast "miracles"

Re: The Pope re-appears to the faithful

But did you hear about the holy muslim pepper (papryka) from Leicester?
A woman cut it open and inside there was written in Arabic words to the effect that Allah's the one and only and Muhammed is one helluva dude!
Muslims came from all over to visit the veritable vegetable (or is it a fruit - never really sure on that one). Caused quite a stir ...
