Disappearing Poles

Interestingly I am seeing fewer Poles around in London. There were huge numbers a few months back. It is not that easy to get a Polish builder. I've had a lithuanian and Slovakian doing a path for me today. People who have had building projects nearby have been using Ukrainians too. You come across more east Europeans who cannot speak Polish. People probably think they are Polish because the languages sound similar. I keep hearing Russian and other Slavonic variants on the tube. Makes it hard to place people.

Tusk was in London today visiting Polish communities. He is probably trying to talk them all into going back.

Re: Disappearing Poles

I don't think the figures from bus and airlines bear this out. They are as busy as ever ferrying Poles to the UK and Ireland.

Re: Disappearing Poles

I think at the same time many are going back, either that or they are going elsewhere in Europe.
