Polish language textbooks

Probably been done on here before, but can anyone recommend a half decent text book for learning Polish as a foreign language? A friend of mine would be much obliged.

Re: Polish language textbooks

When I took some lessons my teacher used her own material. According to her there were no good Polish language coursebooks. Certainly nothing of the quality produced by Oxford or Longman.

Re: Polish language textbooks

I have something called We Learn Polish. A5 size with Red cover. It comes with a CD. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: Polish language textbooks

I have a clatter of books and couldn't recommend any of them - even the one that swore blind it could teach me Polish in 3 Months ... [and which I bought only because the Polish Teacher told me to ]

A colleague found me this link one time - it looks interesting and at least makes a change from a book.

Re: Polish language textbooks

Thankyou claire! I found that link three years ago when I first moved here but then lost it after only printing out the first chapter. I'd recommend the material, especially if checked afterwards by a native Pole. You just need access to a laser printer for the 300+ pages it all is.
