Boy embarks on joy ride across Poland

I'm sure someone will comment that this says a lot about driving standards in Poland .....

A 12 year old boy covered 350 kilometers by a car he had snatched from
his father. The boy took off from his home in Piotrkow in the central
district at midnight with the car keys and some 200 euros from
parental wallets. He decided to visit his friend in Bialystok, in the
east of the country. In the morning, the unaware father notified the
police about a suspected kidnapping of his son and car theft. A few
hours later the desperate parent managed to establish contact over the
phone with the boy. After learning about the circumstance of the
sudden disappearance he convinced his son to stop the vehicle and wait
for the police.

Re: Boy embarks on joy ride across Poland

I hitched all around Europe and as I got to Szeczien the kind driver told me he would arrong a lift to take me further (because of all the problems he caused me on the border). After a while a young boy pulled up in a fairly new M3 on German plates, my ride had arrived. He was 14 years old and worked picking up cars at the border and drove them to the Russian border, he was paid £100 per car. He told me if he got caught he was under age anyway, the cars were borrowed in Germany . I got a lift but his driving was not too good and he lacked the skill to control the car. I thanked him and got out 20 mins up the road.
