Anti-Russian sentiments in Poland purposely incited

Anti-Russian sentiments in Poland purposely incited- Putin

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Anti-Russian sentiments in Poland may be incited on purpose, as an excuse for the prospective deployment of elements of the U.S. missile defense system, President Vladimir Putin told a Thursday press conference in Moscow.

"I have the impression that someone is purposefully fanning anti- Russian sentiments in order to create an appropriate moral and political environment for the prospective deployment of missiles," he said.

"If they incite anti-Russian sentiments in Poland, it will be easier to convince the population that new armament systems are needed to protect the country. In fact, the enemy is unknown. They claim it is protection from Iranian missiles, but Iran has no missiles of that kind. Everyone knows that," he said.

Re: Anti-Russian sentiments in Poland purposely incited

Russia doesn't appear to be trying to ally itself to Poland in any way shape or form. They don't seem to be trying to ally themselves with any country at the moment and will end up isolated. If anything they should be aiming to foster good relations with Poland given the potential for mutual trade and subsequent benefits to the russian economy.

Re: Anti-Russian sentiments in Poland purposely incited

Putin, and all Russian politicians, hate Poland and always will.

I watch Russia Today (TV channel) and it is full of "our neighbours don't understand us".

Some of them obviously do.
