Polska/The Times

OK, I have a confession to make:
I can't stand typical newspaper Polish. It sucks - loads of long, rambling sentences. I miss the point. It's like reading the Independent but without the excitement. Of course, I'm thinking Rzeczpospolita especially.

So, I've taken to buying Polska on Saturdays. It's a POo organ, like TVN (Tusk Vision Network), but it's also pretty eclectic. I like the translated Times articles. I wade through Jeremy Clarkson, though he doesn't work well in Polish and God only knows what Poles make of him twaddling on about Janet Street-Porter. The Polish news articles relay what Tusk's PR men have told the organ to write. Spineless tosh.

But I can understand it. They write according to the dictum "subject-verb-object". Moron level Polish is good for me! Good ol' Times.

Re: Polska/The Times

I never get excited reading the Independent.

Re: Polska/The Times

Rzeczpospolita has a whole section in English every Saturday. The best articles from the New York Times.

Re: Polska/The Times

Ania - you missed my point about the Windypendent. Dull as ditchwater.

Hans - Best of NY Times? I too read the Saturday RZ. I'd hate to see the rest of the NYT!! Occasional good article though, I must admit.

Re: Polska/The Times

I guess I missed it because I thought it was just me that found that to be the case varsovian. Relieved to see it is a normal reaction
