Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Among the classics said by the priest that night were:

"The Virgin Mary gave birth to baby Jesus and laid him in a tomb"

The rest by comparison was merely incoherent gibberish!

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Where was this? Your local church in Poland?

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Yup - it really made our Christmas!

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

you may want to tell us more, ie what church etc, otherwise what you say has no foundation.

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Was this noticed by the whole congregation. Or might you be more 'picky' than others :)

Isn't real knowledge of the bible and stories contained within distinctly shaky in Poland?

I've never seen a bible in a Polish house.

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Hans that's because we are all pagans at heart

zlobie vs grobie could sound pretty similar if there was a bit of static on the mike....

Re: Drunk priest at Midnight Mass

Errrm - I wouldn't like to give details of who and where: you never know how this might end up and I'm not an anti-clerical by any means.
And yes, it was noticed by everyone - as evidenced in the giggles rippling across the church and the talk in the parish in the days after.
