No decent skiing in Poland

A good amount of snow, decent size mountains, appalling organisation - that's the Polish winter resorts.
So, it's off to Austria again for me!

Re: No decent skiing in Poland

I hate skiing - and snow

Re: No decent skiing in Poland

I didn't think Poland had any decent runs? I'd imagine that in zakopane they would have organised it to suit themselves and revenue generation rather than to suit the tourists. That seems to be the case for the tourist industry in that area.

Re: No decent skiing in Poland

One of the famous runs in Zakopane has been closed because the resort authorities want to use farmers' land free of charge - as they did under Communism. One farmer said he wanted paying - they said no - so he fenced off his land.

That doesn't happen in Austria. There they co-operate and earn; in Poland it's beggar thy neighbour.
