Political persecution of innocent pensioners

My parents in law were little people persecuted by the Commies and Solidarity alike.

My MIL gave up some good agricultural land to build the village school ... and got seriously short-changed. Come 1990, the independent judge ruled that the state was too poor to pay for everyone's unfairly expropriated land.

My FIL oversaw and participated in the building of the school, and as its first headmaster got it up and running. For this he was given an award by the Commies. Then came along a Party member and he lost his job, demoted to a simple classroom teacher. Then came along Solidarity and "freedom" and he was stripped of his award and the substantial extra pension entitlement that went with it. No recourse possible.

Kicked in the groin by the Commies, kicked in the teeth by the "democrats" led by Mazowiecki.
