Polish news round up

Tusk says rightly that in comparison with other European countries Poland's economy is doing well for the moment.
However, the top 500 companies are planning huge layoffs and official unemployment is set to rise to 15%. In reality, 25%.
Lech Walesa, who has been a guest speaker at Libertas rallies across Europe, has spoken in favour of an Irish Yes vote for the new European constitution. Probably on the grounds that Poland has its best chances as part of simply any old Federal European state, even if poorly constructed and the process should start now.

Re: Polish news round up

Mind you, the wheels will come off the economy in 2010 as we tumble into the next Great Depression.

Re: Polish news round up

no doubt the polish economy is doing well....polish banks reported 1 billion pounds of english money through its banks in the first 3 months of last year......so over 4 years 16 billion.....and alot of it is untaxed .....well atleast the post offices have been in buisness, busy with all the cash being sent abroad by cash in hand workers......maybe that had something to do with the post office worker not serving foreign customers......well its all big news now that illegal immigrant workers are never away from post offices sending cash abroad

Re: Polish news round up

Babs - the pound has crashed due to the spend, spend, spend policy of the Labour govt, which was elected by an exceptionally dumb set of people manipulated by a pathetic media.
Britain is bankrupt, the pound's worth little, Poles are leaving. Please turn off the lights.
