50 regions with almost 20% unemployment

25.09.2009 13:19
Fifty regions in Poland have almost 20 percent unemployment, meaning that every fifth eligible adult is without work.

There are, however, some districts in Poland in which unemployment amounts to only 5-7 percent.

Over a twelve month period, the district with the highest unemployment is Kamienngorski in Lower Silesia where in August 2008 unemployment showed 12.1 percent and, according to August 2009 statistics from the Central Statistical Bureau, amounts to 19.3 percent.

On average, Poland’s country-wide unemployment rate measures 10.8 percent, a figure that has remained stable for three months. (mmj)

I somehow think there is higher unemployment???
