Swine flu hoax - Poland stands proud

Poland smelt a rat and has avoided accumulating massive amounts of unused swine flu vaccine, unlike many other EU countries. Health Minister Ewa Kopacz's decision was challenged at the time, as the media began reporting the first confirmed deaths from the H1N1 virus. Since November there have been 172 confirmed deaths from swine flu, much lower than the usual seasonal flu toll.
The UK media has avoided reporting the massive, unnecessary drain on NHS resources.

Re: Swine flu hoax - Poland stands proud

Swine was certainly overhyped, but, perhaps, better to be safe than sorry. And wasn't it more a case of the vaccine costing too much for many less well-off countries to purchase?

Re: Swine flu hoax - Poland stands proud

Panic induced demand always raises prices; all the more reason to resist hysteria. Unless, of course, one wishes to increase profit margins on a product produced in the same manner and in the same facilities as the common generic product.

Prices of the vaccine will drop further in the coming months.
