Re: Good bars and restaurants in Warsaw - your recommendations

Country pub atmosphere, stone floor, wood everywhere, lances on the wall, open fire, decent chicken and chips sort of menu, have a country walk (woods/meadows) to build up your appetite, look at the stables ... perhaps go for a sleigh ride in winter. Fairly cheap and no washing up to do afterwards

Sounds great. Nothing like this in these parts

Re: Good bars and restaurants in Warsaw - your recommendations

I haven't been there in years (it might not even be there anymore - I avoid Warsaw as much as possible), but the Blue Cactus was a nice family place, lively with music - pretty good Tex-Mex food, a bit pricey, but HUGE portions (take-aways were encouraged).

Re: Good bars and restaurants in Warsaw - your recommendations

I must admit I HATE huge portions. Give me smaller amounts of tasty food any time.

I really dislike the way that places seem to think they have to provide such huge meals. A lot of times I go out to eat I end up leaving half of it.

Re: Good bars and restaurants in Warsaw - your recommendations

So where are the great Polish Jazz Clubs in Warsaw?

Re: Good bars and restaurants in Warsaw - your recommendations

Great ... jazz ...

How can those two words fit together in the same sentence? I suppose some of the older jazz wasn't too bad - but the modern stuff sucks.
