liablity insruance

Can anyone answer this question. Do employeers require some MA's to have their certification becasue their malpractice insurance requires certification?

Re: liablity insruance

From what I have learned, its not that the insurance REQUIRES they have licensed MA's its that they get a cut on their premiums if they are certified or registered. Insurance companies recognize that we went to school & have some knowledge in risk management.

Re: liablity insruance

You do not have to be certified to qualify for liability insurance. You work UNDER the doctors malpractice insurance; he is responsible if you screw up.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT HELPS ME. I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO SCHOOL FOR MY MA AND I HAD THIS QUESTION COME UP. i APPRECIATE IT!!

Re: liablity insruance

Be carefful.....MAs can be sued and the doctor's insurance is not enough. Do you have a couple million in your pocket? Members of the AAMA can purchase malpractice insurance at group rates. Get your own malpractice insurance. The cost is small compared to a jury award.
