When I chose to be a CMA, I decided to be a phlebotomist also. I am hoping this will make me more marketable. Does anyone have an oppinion on this?

Re: advantage in the job market

Yes it can't hurt, but honestly its not going to do much. CMA and Phlebotomist are separate titles. CMAs can draw blood in a physician's office so a phlebotomist is not really needed. Phlebotomist are more in hospitals and blood banks (and do primarily phlebotomist related tasks, where CMA are not needed or are given a tech position but do not function as a CMA. I would say go for one or the other, phlebotomy is going to pay more.
