CAAHEP schools

In looking for a school that would enable me to sit for the CMA test, I found differences in curriculm and price. Differences such as one school practiced venipuncture on students vs. dummy arms only. And price such as 14K vs 3K for the same amount of time. I would assume the same basics are required to be taught to be able to pass the CMA...but am unsure how to check.

PS..The higher priced school was an immediate start private school, the lower price was a once a year start a community vocational school.

Re: CAAHEP schools

Please do not pay $14,000 to become an MA! I went to community college and the outcome is the same. You sit for the national exam.
If the least expensive school is the one that does not practice phlebotomy on humans (I do not agree with that!) then you could always take a phleb course; in fact if you are waiting for to start school next fall for the find a phlebotomy course that you could take while waiting!!

The more certifications you have, the more marketable you are Good luck!

Re: CAAHEP schools

Thanks, Lexi. I was thinking of doing just that! Is there something I should look for in a phlebotomy class to know if it is reputable?
