Can MA's be called to testify in court? Why or Why not?

Im currently a student at Kaplan. Im taking up AAS in MA, the class I have now is Medical Law and Bioethics and one of my project questions is can a MA be called in to testify in court? Why or why not? I would greatly appreciated.

anyone can be called into court to testify when they have pertinent knowledge of what the case is about. like it or not you can be subpoenaed.

Yes. I am sitting for my CMA and RMA in the next several weeks. I was previously a certified paralegal. So yes, they can be called to give testimony, but they have no license to lose as a doctor could or a nurse.
