Is there a way for MA w/27 yrs experience to get certified w/o having to assume a student loan?

OK so my last 2 jobs I lost , the most recent due to DR retired, the one before that (15 yrs of service)closed due to fiancial difficulty,I have had great difficulty finding another job, every job add I see states must be certified,I have had many job recruiters tell me they may not have much luck finding me anything since I am not certified. I have heard over and over again that there is a way for MA's w/lot's of experience to get certified by challenging the test.I feel destined to get certified or change my profession, but I absolutly love my profession as a medical assistant. If anyone out here knows of a way for someone like me to take this test please tell me how,as I can't find out how! I must say I think this is very unfair for employers to be so discriminating, I alway's felt seasoned ,well rounded experience meant something. Thanks Robin, Nashville Tn

I have the opposite problem. I am certified, but having difficulty finding a job because I lack the experience.

Don't ya feel like you can't win for losing, and once you do get a job will it be worth a flip?I have found over the years for new medical assistants it usually means taking a not so good position and staying there for a couple of years just to have some experience under your belt ,so keep that in mind and good luck.
