Hi, I posted about something similiar before but I am just trying to get more advice etc. I am supossed to be graduating in December (no ceremony until May), and my last semester starts tomorrow and im nervous and very stressed. I have had many problems at my college over the last few years I have been there. Unfortunately, I have to take alot more than I planned my last semester (this semester) because my college cancelled courses on me a few times with last minute notification in the past. I have been going to college full time straight out of highschool. Anyways I havent even heard anything about my externship from my teacher ...I have no idea whats going on. Speaking of my externship Im hoping I get to go to this obgyn office close to my house,so...I am really nervous not just like any other student but more severe. I feel unprepared because I was not even taught how to do most of the basic things (mostly clinical),such as drawing blood,crutches etc. When I switched to this program a few semesters ago there was only me and one other girl. I guess she got sick of the school and stopped coming so that was my clinical class and I really got no practice in. I only practiced doing blood pressure, pulse, respiratons like once and I do not even know how to do that really...also height and weight. What should I expect going into the externship office (because I think we have to like interview with them before we start which I have not heard anything about)? How should I prepare?,do I say something about not being taught properly? I do not want them thinking Im a bad student because its the colleges fault. I have been through so much with my college which I shouldnt of had to. I really would like to get hired from my externship how do I make a good impression? SORRY SO LONG I just am so stressed with school on top of alot of other stressful thing that are going on. I just feel so unprepared and nervous (I have anxiety), and it doesnt help that I have to wait to get into a sleep specialist because I have really bad sleeping problems. Thanks alot!

I also finish my classes in December and will be starting my externship and my last 3 classes in 2 weeks. I got an A in my phlebotomy class. I m taking my EKG class with my externship so I m not sure if I m fully prepared either. However I did have to take competency classes for Phlebotomy and EKG last semester before being placed at a site. I have my externship interview tomorrow. I have taken blood many times in class and did blood pressure and vitals. I practice at home as well.

How did the first day go? And when does our externship start? How many classes are you taking this semester? I m taking 3 and working full time and doing my externship. How long was your program? Mine was 2 years.

Well I went to college straight out of highschool in 2007 ended up switching majors and now I started my last semester yesterday. I pretty much wasnt taught properly and I feel so unprepared and JUST found out that I cant go to the obgyn center even though my teacher told me earlier today I could because I guess its full. Now they want me to go to an pediatric office in the same building which I really had my heart set on obgyn. The pediatric office will also be moving in a few months so I dont know if I even have a chance getting hired. Im so sad I have an interview Tuesday and im not really ready and I do not even know if my class schedule fits around the hours they have open there. I feel so mad its like everything with this college goes wrong. I am also taking 17 credit hours, they wanted me to take 20! My program is an associates. I had to quit my job because my college cancelled courses on me numerous times and Im stuck taking alot this semester (been going full time since I started)I just feel really down and on top of it I have a million other problems going on right now. I also cant get into the sleep specialist for like a month and I havent slept much for the past few years and Im just so exhausted. Sorry to ramble on im just dissapointed.
