Re: Medical Assistant Transition

LVN isn't a state board of nursing classification here. It, LVN, seems kind of localized.

That said, the state board of nursing would have to seek out MAs, covered under practitioners license to find those who would want to make that change.

My externship was at at clinic where an LPN was employed as an MA, as far as I know she got nothing for the letters after her name.

Re: Medical Assistant Transition

I would like to know why they offer no kind of transition course for medical assistant's to LVN?

I know there will be some to disagree however I have been a medical assistant for 10 yrs and in a clinical setting there is a very fine line that defines the role of medical assistant and LVN.

The fine line you speak of is your scope of practice for your specific discipline as set forth by the state medical board. When overstepped, it can have serious consequences.
