Has anyone tried posting an job wanted ad in local paper etc?

Well, I was just wondering if anyone tried posting a job wanted ad in your local paper/pennysaver? My dad payed for me to put an ad in this weekends upcoming pennysaver (thankful because I don't have the money to pay for it myself). Just wondering if anybody had luck with that route? I am hoping to get some calls..its expensive to put an ad up...hopefully people will call.
