Ohio Medical Assistant Registration

Does the state regulate the medical assistant schools, i'm in Columbus and am looking for a program other thant columbus state and I know there are a lot of junk programs in the area

This is part of the problem with the MA profession. There is no "governing body" like nursing that has the state boards. Our right to practice comes from the doctors we work for not some government licensing agency.

That is what i am worried about, when i became a phlebotomist and worked for the red cross, wehad several medical assistants from several local schools who could not even use a bloodpressure cuff.

Very scary when looking for a school to attend.
