Nervous when taking blood! (Medical Assisting Student)

I am currently half way through with taking medical assisting courses at a local college. I am doing very well in the book side of the classes and have a 4.0 Grade Point Average.

The biggest problem i have is taking blood. When taking blood i become very nervous and begin shaking and cant stop and my anxeitey and emotions get the best of me.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and how did you resolve it.

I have tried taking blood with different hands, taking deep breaths, thinking happy thoughts, everything....

Any suggestions are very welcome!

Thanks!
