Question about drawing blood.

I just started training on drawing blood, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to keep rolling veins still. Also do you anchor the arm with your index finger and thumb, or with just the thumb? I've been shown both ways. What angle to insert the needle, and do you insert it fast? I'm up for any advice on drawing blood.

Re: Question about drawing blood.

Not sure how helpfull this will be, as most of my experience was witht he red cross for blood donations. We used a 16 gauge needle, and I tried to keep it from being to much of an angle while inserting. Also in most cases I just used my thumb to help anchor the vein I was drawing from.
