Re: Fresh out!

Hi Shannon,

I know that this post is about a month old, but I wanted to know how your job search is going. Contrary to what the previous poster said, I'm assuming you have a pretty stand out resume if you've gotten so many interviews. It seems like perhaps something isn't going well during the interview process. I would suggest reading some books/articles on how to interview and maybe have a friend do a mock interview with you to practice. Additionally, I think that what you wear to an interview speaks volumes about you to a potential employer. Do you have a nice interview outfit? I recently went on an interview and when I was leaving I saw another girl who was being interviewed after me. I was surprised to see that while she was wearing dress pants, she was also wearing a tight low cut t-shirt and her hair was in a a sloppy pile on her head. If I was a hiring manager, I wouldn't have taken her seriously.

Hope you've found something! Good luck!

Re: Fresh out!

I'm thinking the shear amount of interviews you are able to get, you either have a huge market area or a really decent resume. Amanda has great advise, check your appearance and the confidence you give off. Employers are being really picky.

I just re-interviewed for my current position. I have been "on-call" for 2Y 4M. The competition was stiff, and every candidate was qualified according to folks who conducted the interviews. Because of time constraints I had to show up in my scrubs, between patients. I was forced to talk to the interviewers like I didn't know any of them; I'm familiar with all of them in one way or another through the clinic.

Just because you got beat out doesn't say you are not qualified for the positions you applied for. I was passed over 3 times for a permanent position, that I have basically been doing for well over 2 years.

Good luck, don't give up. Trust in your training!
