LRT ??

Has anyone been asked to get a limited radiology license where they work?

Any advise? what to study? Things to do or not?

BTW, my employer will pay schooling and exam. This alone makes the prospect interesting.

Re: LRT ??

Jefff, that is fantastic! Of course, you will do it! As new discoveries in medicine are made at an exponential rate, so are the demands end expectations of the medical community. Many doctors are now specialized and part of a larger group medical practice (HMO) where doctors work hand in hand and medical assistants must be on their toes and versatile. As you already know, medical assistants are becoming increasingly specialized as well, and recently they aren't even called medical assistants anymore but are referred to as medical assistant technologists; they can do x-rays, or EKG, blood draws, automated specimen processing and operate specialized equipment. Administering radiological machinery requires a limited license. If you get it it may allow you to venture into a medical assistant technologist position. It's the way to go.
