Membership with AAMA

okay, so here's my issue. My instructor that I had in school emailed me and said that I can become a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) because they now recognize RMA's as medical assistants. So to make a long story short, she wants me to join AAMA. Before I dish out money for something like that, is it worth it? I am already a member of AMT.

Re: Membership with AAMA

I guess what my question is would it be "beneficial" to me to be certified by AAMA and AMT?

Re: Membership with AAMA

I'm going to say yes.

Of the 2 largest employers where I live they both require an accreditation of some kind. Where I work they didn't used to, but do now, require a CMA, NCMA, RMA... or other stamp of approval.

Thank you Jeff. I am accredited with AMT for RMA. Since, I am accredited with AMT, would it be beneficial to me to be accredited with AAMA as well?
