Administrative medical assistant

I do both, admin and back office and I like it that way. I went the diploma route and don't regret it for a minute. The girls with degrees don't make any more that I do. Most of the doctors offices around here are owned by hospital networks which have a "starting wage" for MA's and they don't care if you've gone to school for 9 months or 5 years as long as you've graduated an accredited program. It's a lousy wage at that so I'm very glad I didn't pay another $10,000 for a degree. I also don't make any more for being certified through the AAMA...they really don't care.
