For those of you working or on externships, what is the makeup of the clinical staff in your office? How many MAs, LPNs, and RNs? Does your office use LPNs and MAs interchangeably or do they have distinctly separate roles?

Just curious as I consider my options, as I want to work in an outpatient setting and am weighing the advantages/disadvantages of the potential work roles and educational process to get there. Thanks

Are You Working? yes - not as an MA

We have one doc, one RN and 5 MAs, no LPNs. The MA's do the blooddraws and the majority of the injections. The nurse does the few injections we're not permitted to do and ear irrigations and double checks a few of our pts BP's if that's all they're there for.
