Help I don't understand blood pressure readings?

I need for someone to tell me what a good blood pressure is and what a bad blood pressure is. When is the top number to high or too low and when is the bottom number to high or to low. I'm so lost on this and I will start my field experience soon. I guess the school I was going to didn't teach this very good because some girls who did their field experience before me had no ideal what was good bp and what was bad bp.

It used to be 140/90 was the cutoff, but the American Heart Association changed it to 130/85.

The systolic BP, is the pressure on the arteries when the heart is pumping, and the diastolic represents when the heart is at rest. If there is an increase in the pressure on the heart at rest, it affects the contractility as it can only stretch so far, so the force of contraction gets affected.

I think most doctors want to see numbers like 120/80 and below. If the top number is 120-130,that's OK but over 130 needs to be reported.
