Wound Care

I am interested in wound care and I have been doing a little research about different types of dressings. I have come across a dressing called COPA. I found it online at http://www.copadressing.com I was wondering if anyone here had any experience in wound care. What dressing have you/do you use? How have you liked them? If you have used the COPA dressing I would really like to hear from you :)

Re: Wound Care

The hospitals use tegaderm, ABD pads, 4x4's adaptic gauze, kerlix, coban etc...haven't heard of the one you mentioned.

Re: Wound Care

I work in a wound clinic, have used Copa pads many times, it works great to absorb drainage, however if applied directly to the wound bed it STICKs, therefore when using it I typically apply adaptic over the wound bed first then apply the copa pad.

Another excellent product is polymem pads (The Pink Dressing) Doesn't stick to the wound surface, and also works as a cleansing agent. But only works for wounds with light to moderate drainage.
