What am I doing wrong ???

I just recieved a call from yet another job telling me that they picked another applicant for the job. I am trying my hardest to be positive about my choice to be a medical assistant, but I'm feeling more and more down. I am starting to realize that I am not going to have a choice but to go to nursing school. I really wanted to prove myself wrong that I didn't waste my time going into medical assisting. I really wanted to find a good job, with decent pay and feel good about the year I spent in school. I feel stupid because it was a really hard year, with me having to quit my job and all.I think I'm just sad and bitter, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, It's just not fair. I have never had such a hard time finding a job in my life!! How is it possible that you can be a highschool graduate with no kind of training and find more jobs than when you graduated from a technical school, and have an actual skill?? I'm very sad and regretful, I wish I would've went for something else I should've listened when everybody warned me not to go for medical assisting. I'm tired of all the work I'm putting in to find a job and It's almost impossible. I don't know what I am doing wrong. please help. anyone....

Tay,
it's hard to give you any thoughts or feedback on what you might be doing wrong, if you aren't telling us what it is you are doing. Without knowing the details of your interviews, but feeling deeply for your situation, the following might be helpful. It sort of goes into the same field as my latest article on the Medical Assistant Net Blog: http://medicalassistantnet.blogspot.com/

--------------------

You Don't Know What You Want---from Job Interviews, The Best Job Interview Strategies...

Do you know what you want? Are you sure? Most of us think we do, but we really don't. And because we don't really know what we want, we can't get it! That's the idea behind an excellent article by John Wesley at the PickTheBrain.com blog. He tells you how to clearly define your chosen path and the actions needed to get where you want to go.

Here's a brief excerpt from his summary: "If you want to be conventionally successful, to attain wealth and status, you need to choose a specific path (preferably something mainstream) and follow it to the letter. "On the other hand, if you arent particularly concerned with wealth or success, you can take your time searching for that perfect niche. "Just dont wait too long to decide." Job Search:
When the offer doesn't come...

There is no worse feeling in your job search than finding out you did not get the job. Whether by mail, phone, or e-mail, the message always seems the same (and probably is, since most companies use form letters for candidate rejection).

But all is not lost! Before you start papering your walls with rejection letters, consider the following “resurrection” ideas.

The Rejection Reversal Technique
The Isolation Technique
The Kamikaze Technique
The Second-Place Technique
The Squeaky Wheel Technique

Re: What am I doing wrong ???

Tay don't look at it as a waste of time, look at it as a EXPENSIVE tutor program that prep'd you for nursing school. You got some basic knowledge and skills that will defintely help you in nursing school. AND for those sensitive people, i'm Not suggesting that ma's are not knowledgeable, because they are, been there, struggled with the best of ya!!! but, for nurses jobs FIND YOU!!!! and PAY, OMG!!! IS SO REWARDING... but keep trying and applying for the ma jobs until you are able to go back to nursing school the experience is good....
