I just watched the video about McDowell County Schools. A very touching video that former residents and students from McDowell County should see. As a retired educator teacher and administrator from the Cabell County School System in Huntington WV. I can fully understand the problems facing the McDowell County Schools...Finding quality teachers to fill positions is of the utmost importance. Its so sad to see all the lost mining jobs...the quality of life...the boarded up buildings in Welch and other places in McDowell County...I can always remember how busy downtown Welch was on Saturdays in the 1960s. It is really hard to watch the video....I just hope that the school system continues to go forward and keep climbing in performance of the students...God Bless all of you and may 2012 be the best year ever....Ron Oliver..former teacher, and administrator now living on Amelia Island in Florida.
