Don Boyd,WHS class of 1953 will be inducted into the McDowell County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, May 5,2013. The ceremony will be conducted at Mount View High School at 2:00 P.M. Congratulations Don.

Don Boyd's admission is well deserved. Don and Jack Bledsoe of Big Creek were the premier running backs of the fifties. After graduation, he attended the Univ. of Louisville, where he was the starting tailback as a freshman. The quarterback of the team that year was John Unitas.
