JOAN BLACKBURN died in Princeton Community Hospital Saturday and was buried in Bluefield Tuesday, 7 May 2013. She was 80 years old. She was a member of the class of 1953 at Welch High School.
Joan married Doug Blackburn in August of 1969 and took on blending the Arkell Family and the Blackburn Family. What a task. She certainly laid up jewels in heaven for that undertaking. Joan and Doug were married for 42 years when Doug died in 2010.
The Blackburn's and the Arkells will miss a true gentlewoman.
