HERO - Connie Collins

Connie Collins became a real-life hero on Saturday, August 10, 2013 when he saved a six-year-old boy from drowning in a pool @ Pipestem, WV. A group of friends were gathered at an RV park under a shelter for a picnic. There were no children in our group, but we thought nothing of a young boy wandering around the area because there was a playground next to the pool and just assumed he was going there. The pool was closed that day, but the gate had been left open. Connie suddenly looked towards the pool and saw the little boy’s hands going under water. He immediately ran toward the pool, dove into the water and brought the child up to safety. Now get this……the child was naked……the reason being he was visiting his grandparents in the RV park and had slipped away. He didn’t want them to know he had been swimming so he had gone into the pool bathhouse and stripped off all his clothes, was going to take a little swim and then back to mamaw’s and papaw’s RV. Even though Connie doesn’t consider himself a hero……everyone there knows that God placed him in the right spot that day and he is definitely a HERO in our eyes.

Re: HERO - Connie Collins

What a lucky little boy to have Connie nearby. Thanks for sharing.
