In 2001 Norman Blankenship seft a message in the message board. I have
been unsuccessful in getting a reply out. Does anyone know his current

No I didn't get a reply. this isn;t to surprising as over sixty years
have passed since I was even known in Welch. Additionally 12 years have passed
for the new address that you gave me. Any thing could have happened. Was your
family residents of Browns Creek? If yuou were where did you live from Mattney's store? I was bon in McDowell County beyond Iaegar. near Mohawk.
My Dad built our house at the end of Grandview Street. At time it was not
paved and the ruts were very deep. Shortly after WW2 they cut a road around
the mountain to connect us with the rest of Welch I would havd graduated
in 1954, and have found several names that I rmember from my days up to Jr
High. Sadly some have passed on. Again this isn't surprising, as I am 77
years old
