Just wanted to tell the good people in McDowell County about the passing of Coach Don Williams. Coach Williams coached at Concord University before going to Marshall University coaching track and being a big part of the physical education department. Coach Williams earned his degree from Concord and his masters from WVU and got his PHD degree from Virginia Tech. Don is survived by his wife Clara who he was married to for 63 years, his sons Steve and Marc, both from Huntington. You can read his complete obit. at the Herald Dispatch web site. Wanted to mention that his son Steve is the mayor of Huntington. Don resided in Huntington and was a real asset to the community and university.
