Way back in 1999, this site published a bunch of movie memories from people who grew up around Welch. That can still be accessed via this link:

To update, there is an Internet site that reprints a 1928 Welch Daily News article that tells of the opening of the Pocahontas Theater in Welch. It's at this link:
HI Dino,
It was great to relive the article you have on this site. I am one of the contributors. Since you have a copyright on this article. Could I have your permission to copy it or my person collections?
Barbara Dawson Cassell.
Barbara, good to hear from you. I'm sure it's OK to to copy the article. I never claimed any copyright. At the time, we tacked the copyright on the high school site itself so the site got credit for putting together the material. The newest story is probably OK to copy. It's a West Virginia state site that claims no copyright of the Welch Daily News material. Good wishes to you.
Thanks Dino,
I did not want to do anything wrong. It is a very good article. It brought back many memories.
It is great to hear from you.
Let us know when you plan to come back east, we will get a group together.
