Maitland School

Anyone out there attend Superior Maitland School?
Doing a short article on the school and wanted to describe
the kitchen and lunch room but am drawing a blank.
Did we form a line and go by a counter where the food was
put on trays or were the trays already prepared and we just
went by and picked them up? Sally was the cook anyone remember
her last name? We were allowed to work in the kitchen but I
can\'t remember how we were chosen or why we were allowed to work
there. If anyone can pass on information I sure would appreciate it.
e-mail me at jaknpat@visuallink.com
Thanks

Re: Maitland

Dear Patsy: I remember. Patsy, Boby (sp), Wayne, Kimiko. The Blackburn's were neighbors of the Richardsons and I think that you were my baby sitters. I remember going down to visit Wayne and Kimiko and fishing for panfish on the South Holsten after they moved away. Best wishes. Doug Jr.

Re: Maitland School

I went there into the 5th grade. Lived at Maitland curve past the age of ten. many life long friends.

Did you have a younger sister or sisters that might have been in the
Maitland May Festival as flower girls to the queen. I don't know why I
want to put the Conner name with this festival. I have several pictures and
I somehow remember that the blond girl was a Conner.

Re: Maitland School

I attended superior elementary from grades 4 to grade 6. My mom June cline worked in the kitchen as a cook, Ethel Dale, and a Ms. Wilson and a Ms belcher all worked in the kitchen. At that time the cooks put the food on the trays and you picked up your tray. My mom would make homemade rolls and homemade cornbread. My mom was a cook there for 2 or 3 years. This was from approximately from 1969 to 1971. I was sherry cline belcher and my sister Patricia also attended school there. I LIVED on Belcher Mountain which is now called airport road.
