I think a number of us care about the maroon wave history, even though in some eyes, it might be ancient. There are things we should not forget. Here are a few: (1) Which former WHS running back started behind the great Johnny Unitas at Univ. of Louisville? (2) Which MHS great was the captain of Notre Dame and the first round draft choice of the Buffalo Bills? (3) Who was the MHS great who was the starting center and captain of the U. S. And, who is the 1964 WHS graduate who attended Notre Dame on a football scholarship & was a member of the '66 Notre Dame national championship team? In 1968 he played professional football for the Boston Patriots & later the Oakland Raiders. He graduated in the top 5 of his WHS class.
