On this date, October 10, 1952, Welch High School’s football team was defeated by the Princeton Tigers by a score of 13-7. Homecoming Activities were conducted and Miss Beverly Boothe was crowned Homecoming Queen. The field was officially dedicated Maroon Wave Stadium. “Dashing” Don Boyd scored the only touchdowns for the Maroon Wave on a 65 yard pass reception.
