Donald Boyd was an outstanding running back for the maroon wave in the 50s. From WHS he went onto the University of Louisville and was a starting halfback in his freshman year. Probably his most notable claim to fame was when his team faced Florida State. In that game, Donald caught a touchdown pass from none other than his quarterback, John Unitas. Defending on the play for Fl. State was a defensive back named Bert Reynolds.
